METLOGIC was founded and is led by Jay Roberts, a former NWS meteorologist and lifelong weather geek who has years of experience specializing in severe and high-impact weather. Learn more about Jay below.

Jay Roberts
President & Chief Meteorologist

Jay Roberts is the President and Chief Meteorologist of METLOGIC. He holds a Master of Science in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University and has over five years of experience in the weather industry.

Jay's a lifelong weather geek whose expertise and interest span a broad area of meteorology. However, like many of us who saw the Twister(s) movie, Jay's interested in high-impact weather events and specializes in severe local storms. He regularly analyzes and quality controls radar, satellite, surface observations, upper-air, and model data before, during, and after high-impact weather events, allowing Jay to provide excellent scientific advice for past, present, and future weather events.

Prior to founding METLOGIC, Jay served as an operational meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Key West, FL, and Memphis, TN, receiving advanced training in weather forecasting, severe weather operations, and radar analysis. Jay has also provided timely and accurate weather advice to members of the public and has served as a scientific advisor to members of the storm-chasing community. Jay and his family reside in Yukon, OK, where they experience all the different types of weather Oklahoma offers. You can check out his credentials below.
